Technical Project Manager
Netherlands, Noord-Holland, AmsterdamOperations
Pacmed strives to make healthcare a continuous learning network. All patients should receive care adjusted to their personal needs and all medical professionals should be able to learn from all decisions made within healthcare globally. We do this by building a clinical decision support system that helps patients leave the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) faster and healthier. We combine medical expertise with advanced machine learning resulting in our flagship product Pacmed Critical. The first module of this product supports in adequately discharging patients from the Intensive Care Unit. The product is live at the Amsterdam UMC location VUmc and we are rolling out and further developing our software within the Santeon hospital group. In the coming years we intend to further scale nationally and internationally.
We are also supportive of large scale initiatives that enable data-driven decision making in ICU's. As such, we are very excited to be part of the Dutch Society for Intensive Care (NVIC) initiative ICU Data: a collaboration aiming to improve quality of care and patient outcomes in the ICU by enabling large scale research through data sharing between Dutch ICUs.
About ICU Data
The promise of ICU data is, that when Dutch hospitals work together to create a national research database, it will become possible to find answers to complex clinical problems, like finding out which combination of treatment strategies will lead to the best outcomes in specific patient groups. The collaboration emerged during the COVID19-crisis - during which a proof of concept of this infrastructure was built facilitating research on a unique in its kind COVID database. This proof of concept is now further developed into a national ICU database for all ICU patients. Zorgverzekeraars Nederland, uniting all major health insurance companies, supports the initiative for the coming five years.
In this collaboration, Pacmed is will build the technical (Azure cloud) infrastructure and (PySpark) data pipelines to extract, combine and harmonise data of individual hospitals and make the resulting data warehouse available for academic research and medical insight generation by research partners.
