About Pacmed

Pacmed is on a mission to make sure all medical decisions are objective and tailor-made such that patients receive the best possible care and healthcare can cope with the steeply rising demand of care. Our machine learning based decision support helps intensive care doctors with their most important decisions, starting with safely and adequately discharging patients from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Our software is one of the few certified solutions based on machine learning worldwide. You will join at a point in time which Pacmed has implemented its first software in the ICU and is preparing to scale that software across the Netherlands and Europe.

About the role

Finance is the backbone of growth and as a Financial Controller at PacMed, you will play a crucial role in this growth. You will provide financial and business insights based on the numbers and you will need to make sure that the house is in order on the administrative and tax side.

This position presents a unique learning opportunity for an eager finance professional who isn’t afraid of taking on responsibility and a variety of different tasks. You will be exposed to all aspects of the finance department that come into play when running and growing a private-equity backed company. From high-level strategic decisions, choices on automating tools, dealing with shareholders / investors to instating the correct processes and pushing for automation with for example invoices handling. You will set yourself up to be trained as an all-round finance professional, reporting directly to the CFO and supported by an array of external consultants (accounts, tax, subsidies).

What will you do on a daily basis?

  • Managing & optimizing the financial reporting during the monthly and quarterly close process.

  • Analyzing and presenting the monthly results (P&L, Cash flow & B/S) compared to budget in the monthly finance meeting with the management team.

  • Keeping the cash flow forecast up to date, with information from the different stakeholders. Based on your forecast you assess the burn-rate and run-way of the company, identify any potential upcoming risks and assess whether additional funding is required.

  • Providing insight in project reports together with project managers and linking this with the general ledger.

  • Setting up financial processes and structures organization-wide, making the organization growth-ready (departmental budgets, purchase approval requests, invoice approval flows, etc.).

  • Create revenue-recognition models and booking for subscription revenue, and provide basic retention and MRR insights.

  • Ensure annual audit requirements are met (drafting the annual accounts together with CFO and accountant).

  • Responsible for (international) VAT returns (together with accountant).

  • You have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in a similar role.

  • Bachelor's degree (Masters’ preferred) in Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent.

  • You love numbers and Excel and you are savvy with tools and software. Familiarity with Exact is a plus.

  • You have experience with financial planning and analysis, departmental budgeting or forecasting in general.

  • Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement.

  • You are hands-on, eager to learn and have positive energy.

  • You are a team player and care about the well-being and development of others in the company.

  • You are eligible to work in the Netherlands (EU) and are available for at least 32 hours per week.

  • You are fluent in English (verbal and written), knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the Dutch (Wage) Tax and Financial System is a must.
